Mr. Friedman is a retired Lieutenant, US Army Corps of Engineers, who proudly served in Vietnam. After serving in the Army, Mr. Friedman went on to become an Associate Professor at the University of District of Columbia where he held positions such as Department Chair of the Computer Information Systems Department and the creator and Director of the Institute for Research Information Systems. After applying his many years of IT experience in the non profit arena developing and leading IT and service support organizations, in 2009, Mr. Friedman created Sparta Technology Solutions to continue the work that he had done in supporting patient tracking and clinic management systems. Under his leadership, Sparta has provided technical and program management support to the Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) and Office of Information and Technology (OI&T). Currently, Mr. Friedman and his wife Emily Friedman reside in Arlington, Virginia.
When Mr. Friedman started Sparta Technology Solutions, one of his major goals was to provide the most optimal IT solutions to assist our nation's Veterans, their families and the civilians that support them with their healthcare needs. In order for that to happen, Mr. Friedman had to successfully built a team of dynamic thought leaders and professionals to help lead his organization and champion his vision.
Through professional relationships, sources, and recommendations from clients and teaming partners, Mr. Friedman constructed a management team comprises of four IT professionals with over 50 years of government consulting experience. Sparta's team has worked in Fortune 500 companies, large system integrators, and Big Four accounting firms. Mr. Friedman's leadership team have been providing highly effective and cost saving IT healthcare solutions and program management consulting services to federal agencies as such Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of the Treasury, NASA, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and several branches of the DoD.
